Error: “LiveUpdate failed to initialize . . . ” when running LiveUpdate

"LU1840: Automatic LiveUpdate is already running in the background . . . "

  1. Do a Clean Boot With Just Norton
  2. Then start liveupdate (start > Run : luall )
  3. You may get the following

"LiveUpdate failed to initialize . . . " when running LiveUpdate

  1. Delete the file Luinsdll.dll
  2. Then Download and Install Liveupdate from www.symantec.com
  3. Then restart the system
  4. Then Run Liveupdate again (start > Run : luall)

    I just go to Norton… type in the search Intelligent Updater and download latest definitions. I do that about once a week. It downloads and installs a lot fast too.
